Industrial Door Developments provide industrial door design, manufacture and installation for consumers and trade across the UK. Each of their doors is designed and fitted to each client’s requirements, supplying the industry. Hence, they can provide their customers with the highest quality industrial doors at competitive prices.
Due to business growth, they needed to improve their business operations with a more robust and streamlined system to assign jobs from the office to their engineers out on the road. At the time, this was being done manually and was time consuming and open to errors.
Although there are off the shelf solutions on the market, by having their own bespoke software in place, they have complete control of costs, changes to consumer and business needs and stand out above their competitors.
They approached InTeck because they required a mobile solution to resolve their issues.
Solution
Industrial Door Developments now have a work management system that manages the workflow of jobs. From the office, they can set up company and site details, control user management, assign jobs to engineers, send notifications, and prioritise job types i.e. call outs, which is easy assessable via the dashboard with real-time reports.
Their engineers receive notifications of jobs assigned to them. They can complete tick sheets on-site, including Health & Safety, Risk Assessments, add comments, upload images, and electronic signatures emailed to the office and customer.
How it has been designed is user friendly, less time consuming and, more importantly, easy to use as it works in correlation with how they work as a business.
The system can be adapted to however they want, which is perfect, as they don’t have to keep changing systems or migrating data as the business grows.

The client requirements for the Mobile Application were straightforward. They wanted a mobile application that worked across all platforms that they could build on for the future. We decided to develop the Mobile Application in React Native as we didn’t need to compromise on quality compared to standard Native Development and only had to create one codebase.
The API was written using GQL and GoLang. GQL allowed us to streamline the requests and responses from our API to keep the speed of the requests constant no matter their nature and detail. GoLang is a very new and upcoming language that have loved working with at InTeck. We were also able use concurrency in this project to make the tasks even more efficient.
