The Challenge
Industrial Door Systems are leaders in the manufacture and maintenance of industrial door products, so it was vitally important that their engineers had the right tools for the job.
Their national mobile engineers had previously used manual worksheets, which were difficult to track and labour intensive. It slowed down their processes for each new client they got on board. They also needed to make sure the solution they provided didn’t change the business process too much but managed to consolidate all the data into one system.
Solution
The new portal system that we created means customers receive completed worksheets within seconds of a job being finished by an engineer. This has increased productivity with the administration staff and reduced paperwork.
As IDS customers continue to use the new portal system, more functionalities will be added, further increasing the value of the system.

Technologies
We used a wide range of technologies on this project that delivered quick results but didn’t compromise quality or performance. The client had a tight deadline, so we wanted to make sure we used technologies in which we had the most experience.
NextJS and GoLang were used for the Client and Server. We utilised Typescript for both, which reduced ongoing development errors throughout.
We deployed the system on AWS with the help of Kubernetes for the self-healing architecture that it possesses. Our most common Cloud provider is AWS. We feel it offers a wide range of services that can be utilised when needed.
Kubernetes is a must now for all applications as it allows you to see issues before they arise. This means we can be proactive when fixing problems and avoid system downtime.
